Work Starts Soon to Improve Howe Bridge Crematorium - March

Work is set to start later this week on a programme of works to improve drainage at Howe Bridge Crematorium.

Due to commence on 27 February, works are expected to take around ten weeks to complete. The areas directly affected will be fenced off in order to ensure public safety, however, this is not expected to restrict access to memorials.

The site will remain open throughout the improvement programme and signage will be installed to help guide and ensure safety of all visitors. There will be no works carried out on 13 and 14 March to avoid visitor disruption during Mother’s Day weekend.

Howe Bridge is managed by Westerleigh Group, the UK’s largest independent owner and operator of crematoria and cemeteries.

George Bell, Regional Manager for the Westerleigh Group, said: “We care deeply about the standard of facilities at all our sites in order to provide the best service and experience for those who visit. These works form part of a planned phased improvements of this site.

“If anyone has concerns about whether or not they will be able to access graves or memorials while this work takes place, they should contact the Howe Bridge Crematorium office on 01942 878 811.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during the works but hope people will appreciate that it will improve the facilities and their experience of visiting when the work is complete.”
